The Gateway to the Himalayas

Manali sits at 2,050m in the Kullu valley, where the Beas river cuts through dense pine forests and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks are visible from every corner of town. For travelers from the plains of North India, arriving in Manali feels like stepping into a completely different world — the air is cold and clean, the pace is slow, and the mountains are everywhere.

The road to Rohtang Pass at 3,978m is the centrepiece of every Manali trip — a high mountain pass on the watershed between the Beas and Chenab rivers, where snow remains almost year-round and the views stretch across the Himalayan range. Solang Valley offers a full day of adventure sports. The ancient Hadimba Temple in its cedar forest is one of the most atmospheric temples in North India. And Old Manali — the backpacker neighbourhood of cafes, Tibetan shops, and riverside walks — is one of the most charming spots in the Himalayas.

For travelers from Delhi, Manali is accessible by the famous 14-hour overnight Volvo bus — a journey that is itself an experience — or by flying into Bhuntar Airport (45 minutes from Manali). Tripharbr handles all transfers, accommodation, permits, and activities so you arrive and simply experience the mountains.
