Visit the spectacular Umaid Bhawan Palace — part royal residence, part luxury hotel, part museum. Mandore Gardens and its cenotaphs in the afternoon. As the sun drops, board your camel for a sunset safari into the Thar scrublands — golden light, long shadows, and the satisfying sway of the desert. Dinner under the stars with live Rajasthani music.

Drive south through mustard fields and ancient stepwells to Udaipur — the most romantic city in India. Check in near the lake and immediately board a sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola — the Lake Palace Hotel floating in the middle, the City Palace glowing on the hillside, and the Aravalli mountains behind. Udaipur's finest: the sprawling City Palace complex overlooking the lake — 11 palaces built over 400 years. The 17th-century Jagdish Temple. Last morning walk along Fateh Sagar Lake — local fishermen, cycling families, and mountain reflections in the water.
