Land at Narita or Haneda and be met by your tour manager. Transfer to your hotel in Shinjuku — Tokyo's buzzing heart. After checking in, head to the iconic Shibuya Crossing — the world's busiest pedestrian scramble. Explore the neon-lit streets and end the night with ramen at a local favourite.

Full Tokyo day: morning at Senso-ji temple in Asakusa with its giant lantern and incense smoke, afternoon through Harajuku's wild Takeshita Street, then the Shinjuku Gyoen park. Evening ascent of Tokyo Skytree (634m) for a 360° panorama of the city below.

Early morning departure for the iconic Mt Fuji area. The Chureito Pagoda viewpoint — Japan's most photographed scene — frames Fuji-san perfectly against the sky. Lake Kawaguchi offers boat rides with reflections of the peak. If visibility allows, ascend to the 5th Station (seasonal). Return to Tokyo in the evening.

Board the legendary Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo to Kyoto — 2.5 hours of countryside flying past the window at 320 km/h. Arrive in ancient Kyoto and check in. Afternoon at Nishiki Market (Kyoto's Kitchen) for street tastings. Evening stroll through Gion, the geisha district, as lanterns light up the flagstone paths.

Kyoto's full-day highlight run: the mesmerising tunnel of 10,000 torii gates at Fushimi Inari Taisha (start early to beat crowds), the gold-leaf Kinkaku-ji temple reflected in its mirror pond, and the ethereal Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Optional: Arashiyama Monkey Park for a wild detour.

A triangular day trip: first to Nara, where over 1,000 sacred deer roam freely and bow for shika senbei crackers. Visit the colossal Todai-ji Buddha Hall (the world's largest wooden building). Then drive on to Osaka — check in and walk Dotonbori for takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and the iconic Glico Running Man sign.

Morning at Osaka Castle — Japan's most recognisable landmark, surrounded by a moat and cherry trees. Browse Kuromon Ichiba Market (Osaka's Kitchen) for one last round of street food. Your tour manager handles a smooth transfer to Kansai International Airport for your flight home.
